NSW1KOI10 NSWGR LLV louvre van kit
NSWGR LLV louvre van kit
The LLV is a twin compartment louvre van of which a total of 575 were built between 1951 and 1965. The earlier built ones had riveted underframes while the later ones had welded underframes. Commencing in 1958 a number of these were recoded TLV/TLX for use in the conveyance of tinplate. Vans built after 1964 were built with strengthened underframes and roller bearing bogies and were coded GLV/GLX. A number of earlier built wagons were similarly converted.
Four different types of SRC were built, the first appearing in 1927. It had a body length of 20ft 0in and a wheelbase of 11ft 6in, construction being a timber body on a steel underframe. When introduced they were fitted with bottle type buffers which appear to have been replaced by Cammel type at some stage. Some remained in service until around 1970.
Commencing in 1953 some of the BCH coal hoppers were modified for the haulage of bulk grain and cement by the fitting of roofs containing a side walkway and hatches for loading. These conversions were made and/or reversed on an as required basis to follow changes in demand for coal, grain and cement. Wagons used for grain were classed as BWH and those for cement as BRH. The kit consists of polyurethane, lost wax brass, etched brass and pewter castings and is supplied with 2BP bogies and North West Short Line wheel sets.

The MRC refrigerated wagon is a timber bodied steel-framed vehicle that was introduced in 1932. During the period 1932 to 1950, 249 wagons were built in 7 contracts.
The BCH coal hopper wagons were built between 1951 and 1962 and were all steel construction with six transverse hopper doors arranged in pairs long the wagon. They were the first vehicles built without buffers in New South Wales. A total of 1700 wagons were built in four contracts. The wagons were originally fitted with 2BP bogies. In later years low hung 2CC and curve frame CFB were also fitted.
The MLV louvre van was a timber bodied steel-framed vehicle that was constructed in a number of versions over a long period. For the version that this kit represents, a total of 286 vans were built between 1937 and 1951.
The CV covered van was a wooden bodied van which during 1948 - 53 were fitted with the standard 18' long underframe. The main body was of wooden construction with the sides and ends having panelling with external bracing. By 1982 only three remained in service.
The S wagon was the most common wagon type in service on the New South Wales railway system for a period of over 50 years. The original S wagons were built between 1907 and 1921 but during the 1940's a replacement program was instituted with the ordering of 10,000 standard underframes and components from Commonwealth Engineering with the bodies from Clyde Workshops. They were delivered between 1945 and 1958 and were allocated various numbers.
A total of 500 of these wagons were built between 1937 and 1959. The earlier wagons had four bolsters, coded MLE, while later wagons lacked bolsters but retained four stanchions on each side and were coded UME. Some later wagons had the bolsters or stanchions removed and were fitted with holding blocks for containers. These were coded FME for wagons fitted to carry LCL containers and GME for wagons fitted to carry 2 x 20'-00in ISO containers. Twelve had a centre mounted large swivel bolster for operating in pairs, or with spacer wagons, to carry l
During the 1950s Shell Oil Company added ten 5000 gallon bogie tankers to its fleet to cope with increased demand for petroleum products. They were built on a skeletal underframe and were fitted with 2BP cast bogies. These wagons remained in use until the late 1980s to early 1990s.
The Shell Oil Company owned four 3000 gallon four wheel tank cars for use on the New South Wales Railway system. With the exception of the solebars, the chassis was identical to a standard 18' underframe. They were initially numbered 33, 34, 35 and 36. They were limited to carrying fuel oil only.

NSWGR 30 class tank steam locomotive kit
The C30 4-6-4 tank locomotives were introduced in 1903 for use on the Sydney suburban system. A total of 145 locos were eventually built. When electrification of the Sydney suburban system rendered them superfluous, more than 70 were converted to a light tender design (the C30T class). The remainder stayed in service on outer suburban and Newcastle passenger trains as well as on short country branches, banking duties and shunting. They were withdrawn during the 1950s and 1960s
NSWOYG110 NSWGR 48 class diesel locomotive kit with mechanism
NSWGR 48 class diesel locomotive kit with mechanism
The NSWGR 48 class diesel electric locomotive was part of a total of 212 Goodwin Alco DL531 locomotives built from the late 1950s onwards. Significant numbers are still in regular use in New South Wales and South Australia. The kit was a joint venture between O-Aust Kits and Bergs Hobbies. The model consists of pewter, lost wax and polyurethane castings. All four versions are available.
Introduced in 1892, these locomotives were initially used as motive power on fast passenger and mail trains. A total of 191 locos were eventually constructed. Many were still being used on major trains right up until the time of replacement by diesels.
